How Marketplace coverage works

The ACA Marketplace (HealthCare.gov) is where Floridians under 65 can buy individual and family health plans and get help paying for them. HealthCare.gov is the official federal Marketplace. Jeff Messett Insurance is a licensed private agency, not HealthCare.gov or the government.

Tax credits can lower your premium

Based on your expected household income and size, you may qualify for advance premium tax credits that are paid straight to your insurance company each month. You settle up on your tax return.

Good to know: if your income qualifies, Silver plans can also come with lower deductibles and copays.

Plans by metal level

Bronze, Silver and Gold plans (and sometimes Platinum) split costs differently. Lower premiums usually mean higher costs when you get care. Networks matter too, so we check your doctors first.

Good to know: the cheapest premium isn't always the lowest total cost.

Every plan covers the essentials

All Marketplace plans cover essential health benefits like doctor visits, hospital care, prescriptions, maternity and preventive care. You can't be turned down or charged more for a pre-existing condition.

Good to know: plans and prices change every year, so it's worth a review each fall.
